Time???

UPDATE:  2 awesome posts, plus an update of my busy busy week coming soon as requested.  Patience with my crazy schedule for now...  Stay tuned.

I have 2 KICKIN' posts nearly ready for posting - 1 is an update on some running/workouts in my life.  I'm sure my mom will love it even if my other readers couldn't care less.  The other is apparently a somewhat controversial political topic.  I had no idea it would be so hot... stay tuned...

But for now: I need more time!!!  This week is gonna be all kinds of busy!  And I love it.  The schedule for yours truly includes a Meet 'n Greet with Rascal Flatts, a writing class, the Oscars (complete with party), a "Comeback" discussion with Lisa Kudrow, and... wait for it...

LADY GAGA!!!  Love her.  Here's me and one of my Gaga boys from the first time we saw our lovely lady.

I'll try to edit and post those throughout the week.  If it doesn't happen, see you all in a week!

A lil self-lovin'

I don't do a lot of self-loving, but I need a lil somethin' today. So I took this pic and decided to point out some things I like. I hope you like them too.

For a gal like me, the Grammys got it right...

3.5 hours of solid entertainment.  Or maybe I'm just easily amused??

  1. Anderson Cooper interviews Lady Gaga on "60 Minutes"
  2. Aretha introduced by LL Cool J (one of my first crushes) and sung by Xtina, Florence Welch (where's the black dress??), and JHud (wow she looks great).
  3. Ga. Ga.  You know I love her.  I want those shoulder prosthetics.  And I have a date with her at Garden in 10 days.  Nuff said.
  4. Usher dancing with Biebs... I know, I know.  I'm really a 13-year old girl.
  5. Cee Lo looking all cray-cray.
  6. Gaga thanking Whitney.  Huh?  Well, ok.  Can I pull off the Stephanie Tanner side-pony next week at her concert??  I might need to hit Ricky's for extensions...
  7. Lady Antebellum (mainly Charles Kelley) singing "If You Don't Know Me By Now"
  8. John Mayer, Norah Jones, & Keith Urban singing "Jolene" (gimpy vid... I'm aware)
  9. Seth Rogen introduces Adam Levine playing the piano as a prequel to Eminem being a hot genius. - Favorite part of the evening.  One layer of my heaven would look just like this... maybe throw Caleb Followil from Kings of Leon into this mix for good measure.
  10. Mick Jagger moving around like he's 23, singing the same lyrics over and over, and entrancing the audience... talk about star quality.

So, yes.  10 men I love to watch, plus Cee-Lo and Gaga.  Maybe I need to actively re-enter the dating arena.

Things I coulda done without...
  1. Rihanna's red hair.  Beyonce's blonde hair.  I know these aren't new, but I'm done with them.
  2. Jaden Smith somehow being cooler than I will ever possibly be.  How is that?!  He's like 10.
  3. Katy Perry's homage to her wedding... can't say I care.
  4. John Mayer reading the teleprompter for "Jolene".
  5. P. Diddy's grill.
  6. Bicyclist strobe-lighting.
  7. J-Lo & Marc Anthony's scripted marital spat (props to Hannah Edwards for adding this one... how could I forget?!)

One form of happiness...

"Parenthood" on NBC Tuesday nights = perfection.

Love of my life John Corbett guest starring on "Parenthood" = over-the-moon happiness.

Paris Remembrances

Two of my dearest friends in the world are about to take an impromptu trip to Paris.  And they've asked for my advice on where to go, what to do, and which French phrases to learn in the next 2 weeks.  So I just composed an email with some key points... and now I'm longing for some France...

Listen to THIS as you see my pics below.

The Food.

The Crepes (good enough to be put in its own food category).

The Chocolate.

The Sites.

The Romance.

 The Metro.

 The Streets.

 The Art.

The Best Neighborhood On The Planet.  (With Astoria a close 2nd...)

I'll go back.  I'll take a boy rather than meet a boy.  I'll shop.  I'll walk the Champs-Elysees.  I'll kiss on the St. Louis Bridge.  I'll drink champagne.  I'll eat crepes and tartes.  I'll wear black.  I'll wear heels.  I'll take the RER like it's nothing.  I'll sing this song.  I'll get teary from the beauty.  I'll fall in love with the people.  I'll fall in love with the sites.  I'll fall in love with the city.  It'll come back to me like I was only there yesterday.

Ah, Paris.  Je vous manque.  Je veux te faire ma maison.  Peut-etre un certain jour.  Jusque-la vous etes toujours a mon coeur.

My new name.

I think I might be changing my name.  I'm going from Joy to Chuck.  Good Luck Chuck to be exact.

The 3 guys I dated in 2010 have recently been in touch with me.  And they've all told me that they have girlfriends.  My first response is... um, thanks for letting me know??  My second response is to congratulate them on finding what they need.  And my third response is to turn that inward and assume I must be the female version of Good Luck Chuck.

"Good Luck Chuck" is one of those movies that I will stop everything and watch every time it's on.  It is not a good movie.  But I love it anyway.  This could be the insanely sexy Dane Cook.  I would drop everything ANY time he's on tv... for real.

This information is going to be proven untrue.  Or I'm going to wind up with guys lining down the block waiting to date me.  I'm ok with either of these options for now.

And then finally I'm sure you're asking how and, more importantly, why do I have this information??  My thoughts exactly.

Happy Superbowl everyone!!!
